Flight Forecast · Updated weekly

Where the birds are moving this weekend.

The flight doesn't wait for you. Weekly migration pushes, wind-driven shifts, and hard freeze lines move birds hundreds of miles overnight. This page stacks the current fronts, Kent Cullum's flyway read, and the gear you'll want in the blind — then drops you into a tournament where you can win it.

The three signals that actually predict a push

Forget the map cartoons on social media. Real migration pushes line up behind three things: a north-wind front deeper than 10 knots sustained for 36 hours, a surface-temp drop of 12+ degrees within a 24-hour window, and ice-up on shallow potholes north of the Dakotas or northern Minnesota. When two of those three hit on the same Sunday-through-Tuesday, Saturday's hunt is a different game than last week.

Where the pressure is pushing right now

The check-box that matters: refuge refill dates. When a USFWS refuge refills late-week (Tuesday–Thursday), the birds there are fresh-pressured on Saturday and burn out of that pool before sunset. Scout 2-8 miles south or east of any refuge on Friday afternoon — that's where your weekend's going to be decided.

See — The gear that's working this week

Below is this week's blind-ready kit pulled from ProGuide picks. It's weighted toward cold-push gear (when the cold push lands) and stability rigs (when the birds are shopping).

Win — The gear you just read about

The kit in this week's "See" panel is exactly what sponsors are putting on the prize tables in the tournaments above. Sit the right tree, call the right cadence, post a verified score, win the rig you've been studying.
